Who is responsible

What this website collects

What you type into the request form (for beta access or a demo). That is:

  • Your name
  • Your work email
  • Your company
  • Your phone (if given)
  • Your country
  • Your role
  • What you load
  • Loads a month
  • How you plan today
  • Your message

What you type into the contact form. That is:

  • Your name
  • Your work email
  • Your company (if given)
  • The topic you choose
  • Your message

Plus:

  • The prices you saw (USD or INR), with the request form
  • Which button or link brought you
  • When you agreed to be contacted, and the date of this notice
  • The result of the reCAPTCHA check: a score and whether it passed (see reCAPTCHA)

For every page you open: the counts described under Visits we count, which are totals for each day and not tied to you.

Your currency choice (USD or INR), your Google Analytics choice (accept or decline, and when you made it) and, if you use it, the visit-count switch under Visits we count are saved in your own browser. The currency reaches us only if you send the request form, as the prices you saw; the Google Analytics choice and the visit-count switch never do.

Analytics

  • We use Google Analytics only if you accept: a bar at the foot of the page asks on your first visit. Until you accept, nothing is sent to Google Analytics and no analytics cookie is set (any Google Analytics cookies left from an earlier visit are removed). If you decline, it never loads.
  • With your consent, it shows us how the website is used: the pages visited, how visitors arrived (the site that linked here), their device and browser, and their rough location (country or city, worked out from the IP address).
  • It sets two cookies in your browser (_ga and _ga_VDJDESV2XW) that tell one visitor's visits apart. They last up to 2 years.
  • Google LLC processes this data for us, and it may be handled outside India. Google Analytics keeps it for at most 14 months.
  • It is not joined with what you send in the request or contact form. We use no advertising.
  • Your choice is kept in your browser for 12 months; then we ask again. To change it, use "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page: declining stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies.
  • You can also use Google Analytics' opt-out add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser.

reCAPTCHA

  • The request form and the contact form use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to keep automated spam out. It is invisible: there is nothing to tick or solve.
  • It runs only when you use one of these forms: Google's script loads once you start filling one in, never on the other pages, and checks once when you send it. Your Google Analytics choice does not change this.
  • Google's script collects information about your device and browser and how you use the page, with your IP address, to tell a person from a bot. We send Google none of what you type into the form.
  • Google sets a cookie of its own for this check: _GRECAPTCHA, on google.com.
  • Google processes this for us, only to run the check and keep it secure against fraud and abuse, never for advertising; it may be handled outside India. Its terms: Google Cloud's data processing terms
  • We receive only a score (how likely it is that a person sent the form, from 0.0 to 1.0) and whether the check passed. We keep them with your request or message, and erase them with it.
  • If reCAPTCHA is blocked or does not load, your form is sent all the same.

Our calculators

  • Our free calculators work in your browser: nothing you type in them is sent or saved.
  • The first time you calculate on a calculator's page, the page tells our server which calculator it is, and nothing else: no cookie, and nothing that tells one visitor from another.
  • We keep only how many times each calculator was used each day, for 6 months.
  • To stop abuse, the server counts these per IP address: it keeps your IP address for up to two hours, never with the count.

Visits we count

  • We count visits to this website ourselves, with no cookie and nothing saved on your device. The one exception is the switch below, if you use it. Your Google Analytics choice does not change this.
  • For each page view we count: the day, the page, the campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign), the site that sent you (its name only), your device type (desktop, mobile or tablet, read from your browser's own description of itself, which is not kept), and your country, state and city, worked out from your IP address.
  • Your IP address is not kept with the counts. As for the forms and the calculators, the server that takes the counts keeps the address for up to two hours, to stop abuse. The access logs are as "What the servers log" says.
  • To count how many visitors came in a day, we make a one-way code from your IP address and browser, with a random value that changes every day. The code is kept only until that day ends and can't be linked to another day.
  • We keep only the daily totals, for 25 months.
  • No analytics or advertising company receives anything: the counts stay on our servers.
  • To stop it, use the switch below, or turn on your browser's Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track setting.

What the servers log

  • Our servers keep access logs (your IP address, the address asked for, and the time) for security. The access logs that hold your IP address are deleted within 30 days.
  • To stop spam, the server that takes the forms counts requests and messages together: it keeps your IP address for up to two hours, and your email address for up to two days, the email as a one-way code (hash), not as written.
  • Your IP address is not stored with your request or message.

Why

  • To answer your request for beta access or a demo, or the message you send with the contact form.
  • To keep spam out of the forms (reCAPTCHA, above).
  • To see how many visits the website gets, and where from (Visits we count).
  • Someone from the Stowtix team contacts you about it, by email for a message.
  • We send you no newsletter.
  • We share your details with no one outside Gigadep Solutions Private Limited, except Samcom Technobrains, who help us run Stowtix and receive the team's emails about requests and messages, and the providers that host our servers and email, who only store and deliver it for us.

Who sees it

  • The Stowtix team: people at Gigadep Solutions Private Limited and at Samcom Technobrains, who help us run Stowtix.
  • The team is emailed each request and message; you are not.
  • The team's notes on your request or message are kept with it and erased with it.

How long

  • 24 months from your request or message, then it is erased.
  • Copies in our backups are gone within 30 days after that.

Your choices

  • To see or erase what we hold, write to info@gigadep.com.
  • We erase a request or message within 30 days of being asked.
  • To correct a request or message, we erase it and you send the form again.
  • You can withdraw your consent the same way: we then erase your request or message.
  • If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
